Ramstar Games - Scrolls & Daggers - Scenario 1

Created by Ramstar Games

We have lovingly designed a set of hard enamel pins to capture and give salute to all the amazing world building, character creation, and role-playing games we've enjoyed over the years. Specifically, we're paying homage to Dungeons & Dragons first, one of the most robust and enduring RPG games and gaming systems of all time! This is Scenario 1 for Ramstar Games and includes The Fighter, The Rogue and the The Ranger character class pins from Dungeons & Dragons. Stay up to date about our next Kickstarter campaign for Scenario 2! coming in early 2022 by signing up for our newsletter at www.ramstargames.com/our-email-list/ Only backers will get our exclusive stretch goals and Kickstarter pricing. Don't miss out!

Latest Updates from Our Project:

What's Next & What to Expect?
over 2 years ago – Mon, Nov 22, 2021 at 06:30:11 AM

Good Morning Adventurers!

We are officially wading into unknown waters as we begin setting up our Kickstarter Spotlight Page and initiating BackerKit. One thing is for sure, surveys will not be going out today like we originally thought.

Expect the schedule on our campaign page to change a bit. The dates were our best guesses at the time. We misjudged how quickly we'd be able to set up the surveys and Backerkit, mostly because we have less free time now than when we started the campaign due to changes with all of our employment statuses. Ah, life! Such a rollercoaster.

We do intend to finish updating our Kickstarter Spotlight Page and begin setting up our BackerKit account today. We may go a wee bit slower with this because it's new to us, so we ask for your patience.

As soon as the surveys are availabe, we'll send them out.

Again, a massive thank you to all our Backers. We did it! We fully funded and reached our two stretch goals. This is the long awaited step forward we've been striving to achieve for such a loooong time, and we're thrilled and excited to be taking this step with you.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Wow! Our First Stretch Goal is Unlocked!
over 2 years ago – Sat, Nov 20, 2021 at 07:06:39 AM

Good Morning!

What a fantastic way to wake up this morning! We are currently sitting at $1,831 in pledges which means sometime in the early morning, we surpassed our first stretch goal. This is so exciting! Wow!

A mighty thank you to the Backers who upgraded their pledges; you're very generous. And a warm thank you to our new Backers.  Now that we have unlocked our first stretch goal, we can now include fancy Kickstarter exclusive backing cards.  Whoot! Whoot! Yes, we're starting to sound like owls. ;)

We have 14 hours to go and one final stretch goal. Once we raise $2,000, everyone who backed one of our pin tiers will get this FREE mini pin. We're less than $200 away from achieving that. At midnight tonight, the campaign ends. Can't wait to see how the rest of today unfolds.

Cheers!

Our Final 48 Hours!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Nov 19, 2021 at 08:47:30 AM

Hi Adventurers,

We are officially in the final 48 hours of our Scrolls & Daggers Kickstarter campaign!  We're excited because we're currently 109% funded, and we can't thank our Backers enough, but we'll try anyway.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Our first stretch goal is... custom backing cards. Not just any kind of backing cards. Nope, we're designing Kickstarter exclusive backing cards.  This stretch goal unlocks at $1750, so we only have $99 more funds to raise to unlock what would make the presentation of our pins look super pro.

We also have a second stretch goal...  a free Scrolls & Daggers mini pin to all Backers who pledged for one or more of our adventurer class pins. This stretch goal unlocks at $2000. Only another $349 to raise to unlock that one.

The last time we looked, we had 60+ people following our campaign link. By now, anyone following our Kickstarter campaign who hasn't pledge yet will have received reminder emails about our campaign. Let's hope they pledge now. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Here's a quick rundown about what this campaign has to offer:

  • 2.25" hard enamel pins with 12-16 colours.
  • Adventurer classes for Scenario One are The Fighter, The Rogue, and The Ranger. (FYI, The Ranger is the most popular!)
  • Free shipping to Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, and Guelph.
  • Free ditital colouring book to anyone who pledges a pin tier.

From now until midnight on November 20th, the Ramstars will be glued to their computers as much as possible, so we can field any comment or question anyone has.

Once again, please share our campaign on your social media. You can find and share our posts on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Kit is on Reddit. :)

That's all for now!

The Scoop on The Rogue Pin! - A Few Words From Sean
over 2 years ago – Tue, Nov 16, 2021 at 04:31:31 AM

The Rogue Pin...

Sneaky. Underhanded. Sticky fingered. Subterfuge and shadows, thy character class is Rogue.

I must admit, this was a tough pin to design. You see, I have an affinity with symmetry. It features quite heavily in a lot of my artwork (see below). There's just something about it that I find aesthetically pleasing...

See?

When it came time to create an unbalanced design, I really had to push myself out of my comfort zone to bring it to fruition.

There were several design choices that the team and I had to work on as well. I initially wanted to put in a money bag and the vial of poison started out as a potion bottle with a stopper that looked like a little skull. The whole thing was clunky, just clunky.

With a little bit of elbow grease and the amazing input from the rest of the Ramstars, the Rogue design slowly revealed itself as the beautiful design you see here: flashing daggers, shining silver plunder and a vial of the most questionable liquid!

This pin also underwent a bit of a subject shift. Initially, it was going to be an Assassin pin (Sabrina's favourite character to play!) which is a more specific version of the Rogue character class.  However, the team decided that we should start from the ground up. We took the design back to its roots as a Rogue pin instead, and voila! The results speak for themselves.

You'll have no problem sporting this glittering prize on your Rogue-based cosplay costume, on your pin bag or jacket, because being the Rogue that you are, no one will see you coming!

Rockin!

We're One Step Closer Toward Our First Stretch Goal!
over 2 years ago – Wed, Nov 10, 2021 at 02:03:28 PM

Hello Everyone,

Kit here.

The team here at Ramstar Games has been busy this week. Sean works a full-time job during the day, Sabrina is juggling freelance work and getting ready for a vacation, and I'm job hunting, ugh. Not to worry, though; I've been closely watching the campaign and letting everyone know when something exciting happens. Just the other day, for example, we received our second pledge in the Retailer's Tier from Sarah-Anne and Chris Lahaie, the owners of Event Horizon Hobbies in Midland, Ontario.

Whoo-hoo!

It was my suggestion that we include a Retailer's Tier. I haven't seen one on other pin Kickstarter campaigns, so I wasn't sure if it would fly or not. So we were thrilled when a retailer we know pledged at the beginning of the campaign. Now, a second retailer pledged. :)

We had the pleasure of doing a Gen Pop-Up at Event Horizon Hobbies earlier this year. Chris and Sarah-Anne got to play our bee game, and we got a chance to play Magic: The Gathering with Chris and discuss games in general. Event Horizon is a wonderfully huge gaming cafe and shop stocked to the gills with the biggest collection of Magic cards we've ever seen, along with a comprehensive art section for models and figures. They also have a great snack and drink bar that rivals Starbucks.

We're please to see our campaign at 108% funded. We still have 10 days remaining.  We'd love to meet our first stretch goal which would help fund backing cards for the pins. Nothing screams super pro then fancy backing cards.

So, please spread the word around. Thanks.

Cheers,

Kit
